U3A Welsh National Championships

An exciting and enjoyable day was had by all at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff yesterday – ending in Graham George and Gaynor Evans from Pembrokeshire being crowned as 2017 Welsh U3A Champions

This was an inaugural event hosted by Table Tennis Wales- the national governing body for the sport

Play took place all day on a round robin basis with 16 teams from North, South & West Wales all battling it out. New networking connections were made between groups with the likelihood that future friendly matches may be arranged between them

Phil Avery from Table Tennis Wales said – “We are glad that so many came along and had such a fun day. Table Tennis is a great sport for all ages and we look forward to the event expanding – and going from strength to strength in future years”

Absolutely delighted to hear of the success of the day. Well done to all who competed and congratulations to the winners. My sincere thanks to Table Tennis Wales and especially Philip Avery for organising the event for Welsh U3As.

Wonderful to hear of our U3As getting together for fun and activity and I do hope that even more U3As will enter  next year”
