Top 10 Report

Anna Hursey, at the tender age of 12, finished a credible 9th position at the European Youth Top 10 event in Vila Real, Portugal. Anna has 3 more years in this age category and 3 more years in this event so with many players being too old next time around it could be a completely different story.

Highlight of the Tournament was beating the current World and European number 1,  Elena Zaharia (ROU) by 4-0. Anna also beat the European number 8 Arina Slautina by 4-0 as well.  In the final match of the tournament Anna beat European number 30, Ines Matos to secure her place. Although Anna had a much better games difference than the two girls above her she missed out on 7th place as she had lost to both girls in contention.

Overall, a very promising tournament and already looking for the next event to challenge Europe’s best.
