ITTF Polish Open (Update)
Anna Hursey and USA team mate Tia Lynn Hsieh, made it through to the QF of the cadet girls team event this morning but lost out to the higher ranked Romanian team 3/0.
After defeating Poland D, Greece and Slovakia yesterday it was just a bridge too far against Zaharia (World number 2) and her partner Mitrofan.
Anna then dusted herself off quickly to beat both her opponents from Lithuania and Poland in the cadet girls singles qualification group and qualify for the Last 64.
On Day 3 of the tournament Anna went past Slovakian Illasova 3/2 in the last 64, and then Russian player Tentser 3/1 in the last 32. In the last 16 Anna met a formidable opponent in Japans Yokoi. Here Anna got beat 3/0 against a top player.
After a quick lunch and change it’s on the bus to Zielona Gora for more training with the best players in Europe all week.
