Gold, Silver & Bronze for Team Wales

Beth Richards won the Gold in the U18 singles, which added to her medal haul after a Bronze in the team the previous day with Jamie-Lee. Beth didn’t lose a match all weekend so it was fitting for her to claim top place on the podium beating Thuy Linh Cashman.

Lara Whitton just lost at the final hurdle to Raquel Sao Pedro, of England, 3/1. A Silver medal was a great result after a good tournament. To top it off, Lara won the Umpires vote for conduct and sportsmanship all weekend.

Benedict Watson couldn’t make it to the final of the U18 boys but won a Bronze medal for all the hard work and passion he showed throughout the 3 days in Worcester University. Grace Clement also claimed a U14 girls Bronze losing out to winner Pedro.

Libby Owen won a Consolation Silver to add to the Team’s tally and played brilliant throughout the weekend.Abhishek Bathula also reached the SF of the boys consolation even.

Louie Evans lost out to Naphong Boonyaprapa in the U14 boys QF. In the Last 16 Louie beat team mate Evan O’Connor 3/0. Joseph Roberts also reached the QF of the U16 singles, there he lost to Joe Cope 3/1.

There were also great efforts from Jack O’Duffy, Morgan Day-Davies, Bethan Jones and Jamie-Lee Harley over the past 3 days.
