Swansea Open

The Road 2 Zagreb is hotting up as play moved to Swansea for another ranking event for players to gain valuable points for qualification this July. 3 Dragon events were also in action for finals qualification on Friday 28th Feb

Louie Evans was once again a double winner as he swooped to collect the Open singles and the Junior title. In the Open he recovered from a group loss to Cath Jones to work his way through the draw to beat Ben Allen, Dennis Bromage, Lara Whitton and Chris Bush in the final.

In the Junior event Louie beat Harri Docherty in the final match of the day 3/0 to leave Swansea with 2 Gold medals. Harri had a great day not only getting to the Junior final bit also the cadet final. With 3 match points it was so close, but the fighting spirit of Evan O’Connor came through to take it 14/12 in the last set

Ruby Elliott won the cadet girls singles defeating Lowri Hurd & Sasha Lewis to the title. The Junior Girls was won by Danielle Kelly. She defeated both Lara Whitton (semis) and Beth Richards (final). Grace Clement was the other semi finalist.

In the Dragon events, Seren Jones (U9), Dan Mead (U11) & Cai Llewellyn (U13) took the winners trophies. There were spirited challenges from Lily Elliott, Jordan Price, Evan Davies, Lily Walters and Darcey Taylor through those events.
