South East Primary School Championships proves an exciting battle throughout
The 2025 South East Primary School Championships was played on Thursday 13 March at Talybont Sports Centre, and it was an exciting battle throughout the entire day.
24 teams battled it out for top spot; it was brilliant to see four more teams enter the fold than last year! There were schools from Rhondda, Merthyr, Cardiff, Cwmbran, Ebbw Vale and Tredegar all fighting for places.
In first place was a partnership of Toby Young and Evan Jones from Williamstown Primary and Tonyrefail Community School.
The day started with six groups of four, followed by four groups of six in the afternoon. The morning matches got us off to a fantastic start, with a good standard of play seeing the top seeded teams all come through strongly.
The afternoon groups were made up of all of the morning group winners in one group, all of the morning group runners up in one group, all the way down to the morning group 4th place finishers. The final positions for the event were as follows:
- Williamstown Primary / Tonyrefail Community School
- St Andrews Major

- Cathedral Llandaff A
