Ron Davies Nominated as TTW Vice President

The TTW Board are delighted to nominate Ron Davies as the TTW Vice President for his long and dedicated service to table tennis.

Ron initially became involved in the sport over 30 years ago when his daughters started playing and he has recently stepped down from the TTW Board. Ron has made a long-standing contribution to the TTW Board in a variety of positions including Finance Director and more recently Director of Competitions/Performance.  Ron has also had a massive involvement in organising and running our successful national tournaments and he has officiated at several major events as an International Umpire.  Outside of table tennis, Ron has worked with Team Wales at several Commonwealth Games.

Julian Boyer, TTW Chair, says:

“Ron leaves a massive void on the Board and I am only thankful that he has offered to continue to play a lead role in the 2021 European Veterans Championships event planning. Ron has also kindly offered to be on hand to provide support advice and guidance to new and existing board directors as we look to complete our period of transition and begin to deliver against our strategic aims.  I’m hoping he has not regretted making this offer as I have already taken him up on it! It was a privilege to personally present Ron with the badge of Table Tennis Wales Vice-President and nominating Ron for this position was the easiest and fastest decision the board have ever had to make. Ron joins Steve Eades (TTW’s other Vice-President) and of course our President ,George Evans, in being recognised for their service to table tennis in Wales and for Wales.

I would like to thank Ron personally and professionally for all the support he has provided me and, on behalf of Table Tennis Wales, I would like to thank him for everything he has done for the sport and the community that is table tennis in Wales; diolch yn fawr Ron.”
