Regional Focus Club Programme to Strengthens Table Tennis Across Wales

Table Tennis Wales is proud to announce the continued growth of its Regional Focus Club programme, with 14 clubs from across Wales now officially part of the initiative following a successful application process.

This milestone marks an important step forward in strengthening the club network across Wales, as the organisation transitions from the former Regional Development Clubs model to a more targeted, impact-driven Regional Focus Club programme.

At the heart of the programme is a commitment to supporting clubs more deeply, more consistently, and with greater impact—recognising their crucial role in driving participation, developing players, and sustaining the sport at a local level.

The Regional Focus Club programme is designed to go beyond standard support, creating a network of clubs that benefit from enhanced, prioritised development. This tailored approach ensures clubs are not only supported—but actively developed into strong, sustainable, and ambitious environments for players of all ages and abilities.

The programme plays a central role in delivering the Table Tennis Wales strategy, built around three key pillars:

  • Growth and Participation – Expanding access and engaging more communities
  • Performance and Excellence – Supporting player and people development
  • Organisational Development and Partnerships – Building a sustainable and collaborative future

By investing directly in clubs, Table Tennis Wales is strengthening the foundations of the sport and creating clear pathways for participation and progression across Wales.

Speaking on the expansion, Claire Biddle, Head of Participation at Table Tennis Wales, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome 14 clubs into the Regional Focus Club programme. This is about much more than recognition—it’s about providing clubs with the priority support, opportunities, and resources they need to grow sustainably and reach more people in their communities.

The expansion of the Regional Focus Club network signals a clear commitment to long-term, sustainable growth, ensuring that clubs are equipped to deliver high-quality, inclusive experiences across Wales.

By placing clubs at the centre of its strategy and providing enhanced, structured support, Table Tennis Wales continues to build a stronger, more connected, and more ambitious future for the sport.
