Olympic Qualification

Spain 3 – 0 Great Britain

Spain took all 3 matches to defeat GB in the last 32 of the Olympic Team Qualification match today in Gondomar.

The doubles combination of Charlotte Carey & Maria Tsaptsinos looked promising as they won the first set 11/7 vs Zhang/Dvorak. The next 3 went the way of the Spaniards however 7/11, 7/11, 8/11.

Tin Tin Ho was next up against Maria Xiao, and all 3 sets were tough for the English number 1 losing 9/11, 3/11, 8/11. The Welsh number 1 Charlotte Carey was next up and needed to salvage the match for Team GB but was unable to get her top game out versus the highly experienced Galia Dvorak losing 5/11, 5/11, 6/11.

There are still chances for the players in the singles qualification in April (Russia) and May (Qatar) should they be selected to go
