No Medals in Ostrava
European Youth Championships 2019
It was a case of Blue Monday in Ostrava as Anna Hursey started the day with 2 very good chances to progress to the latter rounds.
A close doubles loss in the round of 16 vs Poland was the first part of the plan being broken up. 30 mins later her singles started vs Naomi Prankjovic (Germany).
With both the 1st and 3rd slipping with favourable leads Anna found herself 1/3 behind in the best of 7. She fought back to take the 5th and had several set points to level it and make her opponent start a 7th set but Naomi fought hard enough to clinch it
For Anna, some reflection before her flight to India tomorrow for the Commonwealth Championships in Odisha where her team mates await.
