European Team Qualification – Stage 2 Osijek

The women’s team went to Osijek aiming to come away with European team qualification. There were some really close matches, with the girls almost qualifying in the group stages but coming just short. But they managed to pull off a great win in the next round.

The first match in the group was Austria, the results included:

Charlotte Carey v Karolin Mischek: Charlotte won 3-1

Anna Hursey v Sophia Polcanova (WR 13): Polcanova won 3-0

Lara Whitton v Amelie Solja (WR ): Solja won 3-0

Charlotte Carey v Sopia Polcanova (WR 13): Polcanova won 3-0

Overall loss 3-1 to a strong Austria team.

 

The second match was a must win to qualify straight away was against Belgium.

Anna Hursey v Lilou Massart: Anna won 3-1

Danielle Kelly v Sara Devos: Devos won 3-2

Anna Hursey v Margo Degraef: Anna won 3-1

Charlotte Carey v Lilou Massart: Massart won 3-1

Overall loss 3-2 to Belgium.

 

The final match is the knockout round against Finland, the results included:

Charlotte Carey v Marina Donner: Charlotte won 3-0

Anna Hursey v Aleksandra Titievskaja: Anna won 3-0

Lara Whitton v Ramona Maarit Betz: Betz won 3-2

Anna Hursey v Marina Donner: Anna won 3-0

Wales won 3-1.
