Table Tennis to Restart on the 9th November After the 2 Week ‘Firebreak’ (4th November 2020)

Following the First Ministers announcement on Monday regarding the restrictions after the 2 week firebreak, we are delighted that table tennis can resume indoors on Monday 9th November with different restrictions in place.

We are eagerly awaiting the updated Welsh Government guidance and FAQs for sport, but the key implications include the following:

  • Organised indoor gatherings are limited to 15 per group
  • Those aged 11 years and under are exempt from this limit- this age group could gather up to 30 and social distancing must be applied
  • For large facilities, multiple groups of 15 can be accommodated
  • Coaches, staff and volunteers do not count towards the 15 per group limit
  • For individuals attending sessions, the capacity of the venue is based on allowing 9m/sq per person as per the UK Active guidance.

Once the updated information has been issued by the Welsh Government we will amend our Amber Phase Graded Return to Play guidance, so watch this space.
