Butterfly Welsh National Championships 2024
This weekend will see the return of the Butterfly Welsh National Championships taking place at Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff, where the best players from across Wales will battle it out to be crowned National Champions within their respected age categories.
In the Men’s event, 18-year-old Harri Docherty will look to claim his first Men’s crown after securing the Welsh Number One spot in the latest Welsh Rankings. In his way is 6-time Men’s Champion Callum Evans, who is looking to take the men’s crown for a seventh successive year. This year sees a return for the 2015 Men’s National Champion, Daniel O’Connell, who will look to cause an upset to the seedings.
The Women’s event looks to be a great sceptical, with two of the best players in Britain aiming to take the Women’s crown. Anna Hursey, currently ranked 95th in the World, will look to defend her crown for the first time. On the opposing side of the draw is the 7-time Women’s Champion, Charlotte Carey, who will look to avenge the defeat from last years final.
The weekend is packed with table tennis action with events running from under 11’s through to over 70’s, to see who will be crowned National Champions of 2024.
