Table Tennis is a great sport to get your children involved in

It is fun

It is safe

It is not expensive – bats for beginners cost under £10 and even for very advanced players they can cost less than a pair of football boots. Most clubs charge only a very small session fee – sometimes as little as £2 or £3 or so depending on the cost of the venue

It is a round-the-year sport and is not weather dependent

Coaching is available at many clubs – although nappy-changing is down to parents!!!!

It is physically very active – great for keeping children fit and getting them away from the TV or play-station!

Realistically children can often start playing and enjoying our sport from the age of 4 or 5 onwards. It is fantastic for development of co-ordination and will help them with many other sports or activities

Table Tennis Wales has great talent ID and if your child falls in love with the sport – as many do – there are great opportunities for talented and committed players to progress to representative squads

“Dragon” beginner events

We have a series of events called “Dragon” which are designed specifically for young players who are starting out on their table tennis lives. The very top players are not allowed to enter so that less exxperienced children get a great experience. They get loads of matches in these events and it generally costs only £5 or so to enter.
