North Gwent Open

Congratulations to Benedict Watson on yet another Welsh event win at the North Gwent senior Open. Benedict beat Neil Wright 3:1 in the final with Cade Short and Jacob Young reaching the Semi Finals.

Beth Richards claimed the Senior consolation singles beating Ben Allen in the final.

In the Dragon event, which ran by the side of the Open singles, Lily Elliott beat all before her to win the Under 9 singles. Evan Williams won the U15 category beating Harri Doherty into 2nd place. Rhys Hetherton came top of the U13 pile, with Harri R/up once more. In the U11 Dragon, Sasha Lewis beat Ossian Wilkshire in the final to get the full allocation of ranking points available.

Lara Whittington upset the seedlings in the Junior singles as she beat the inform Benedict in the QF stage. Cade Short won the singles beating Jacob Young in the final 3/0. Lara and Beth Richards made up the semi final spots.

Ruby Elliott lost out to Evan O’Connor in the Junior consolation final.
