New Swansea Development Officer
TTW is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Porter in the role of Swansea Development officer. Based at Swansea University, Matt will be continuing our successful partnership with the University academy and developing the sport in the region.
Matt has been involved in Table Tennis for over 20 years and for the past 8 years he has been managing and coaching at Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club in the North East. He was instrumental in forming the club and taking it into one of the best clubs in England, with a huge community programme, schools programme and player development pathway which has seen over seen more than 12 players on England Performance and Para GB Pathways.
As well as working with the Durham University teams winning divisions and national BUCS titles, he has also worked with the England, Scotland and Cyprus National youth squads. Matt brings a range of both coaching and development knowledge to the team. Currently holding an UKCC level 3 and is in the process of completing his UKCC level 4.
Matthew commented “I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to help develop table tennis in the Swansea and the surrounding areas and helping Wales Table Tennis continue to develop great players”
