European Youth Championships teams announced

The team heading to Malmo for the 2024 European Youth Championships has been announced, with four national champions heading to Sweden to compete.

The European Youth Championships is the biggest event on the junior calendar in Europe, and this year will take place between 12 and 21 July.

The players heading out to represent Wales are as follows:

Junior Boys: Harri Docherty and Toby Harwood

Junior Girls: Lowri Hurd

Cadet Boys: Harry Street

Cadet Girls: Isabella Turner-Samuels, Amelie David and Lily Walters

All four national champions at these age groups, Harri, Lowri, Harry and Isabella respectively, will compete.

Meanwhile, Harri Docherty, Toby Harwood and Harry Street will form a Junior Boys’ team with Isabella Turner-Samuels, Amelie David and Lily Walters forming a Cadet Girls’ team for the event.

Last time out, Wales’ boys placed 33rd while the girls finished 29th. Three players will be competing at the European Youth Championships for the first time in July, with Isabella Turner-Samuels, Amelie David and Harry Street all making their debuts.

With no Junior Girls’ side travelling out, Lowri will solely compete in the individual events after being a part of a Junior Girls’ side that secured a 13th place finish last year.

TTW would like to wish the best of luck to all travelling out to compete!
